I grew up on a farm in rural Putnam County. Graduated from Putnam County High School in 1980. Graduated from IVCC with an Associates in Applied Science in 1982. Started working for Colonial Bank and Trust Company in 1984 as a Loan Department Secretary. I continued to further my education by completing additional banking/business classes at IVCC enabling me the opportunity with Colonial Bank, which then became Citizens First National Bank, and is now known as Heartland Bank and Trust Company, to further advance my career working in several positions. I am currently Vice President and Retail Manager of the Peru Office and approaching my 38th year in banking. My regular daily duties allow me to work closely with our Retail staff members, enhancing their skills for development of their careers and it also allows me regular interaction with our customers, assisting them with their many financial needs.
I am married to Timothy King, a retired Operating Engineer with Labor Local #150. We moved from Putnam County to La Salle County in 1996 so that we were both closer to our work. I enjoy being involved in our community and currently serve on the IVAC and YMCA Board of Directors. My husband and I are members of The Living Church of God and in my spare time, I enjoy taking walks with our two Papillons, flower gardening, photography, and scrapbooking.
