October 4, 2021
EPHS Weekly is a weekly email communication for families that is sent every Monday morning.
It is intended to provide families updates on important happenings in our school.
Previous messages can be accessed from this page of the high school website.
EPHS Students have access through the Daily Bulletin.
It’s Homecoming Week, Eagles families! This will be an exciting week here at EPHS. Please encourage your student to take part in the week--starting with dress-up themes each day, Activities Rush on Wednesday, Pep Fest & football game on Friday (see below), all capped off by a semi-formal dance on Saturday night in the Activities Center. A bit more on Activities Rush--this is an opportunity for students to explore the various opportunities we offer at EPHS beyond the school day. We want each of our students to maximize their time in high school by finding meaningful experiences. The Rush is 7:30 am - 8:45 am in the Main Gym on Wednesday. Of course, students can get involved outside of Rush. Please see our newly-redesigned Student Activities website for more information.

Happy Homecoming & Go Eagles!

Robb Virgin, Principal
Russ Reetz, Associate Principal of Student Activities

October is College Knowledge Month. Eden Prairie High School will be participating in this state-wide initiative to help students with thoughtful college exploration and planning. Check out some of the things we will be doing HERE.
WHAT I WISH I KNEW ABOUT COLLEGE PLANNING – PARENT PANEL
Tuesday, October 12th 7:00 p.m., join the Zoom event HERE (Passcode Eagles21). Don’t miss this popular discussion with experienced parents addressing everything from the college application process to what size dorm sheets to buy and all of the hurdles in between. We’ll also hear from high school counselors about some key college-prep items. We’ll cover many helpful topics and have time for questions and answers. This is a great meeting for parents of juniors and seniors.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED IN RESOURCE CENTERS
EPHS has Resource Centers for four departments: Business, English, Math, and Social Studies. Volunteers in each center help students and teachers with tasks like checking students in for teacher appointments, checking out/in textbooks, taking messages or assisting with small projects for teachers. Our Resource Center volunteers offer a much needed adult presence for students and a set of helping hands for teachers. Volunteers are greatly appreciated! We are currently assessing Resource Center needs and gathering a list of those interested in learning more or those hoping to commit to weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly shifts. Find more info on Resources Centers here and consider signing up to receive more information and scheduled openings. Add your name to the SignUp Genius on our volunteer webpage. Thank you!

STAFF APPRECIATION - STILL ACCEPTING DONATIONS
It’s not too late to show your gratitude to teachers and staff with the first PTO staff appreciation event! This year, we’ll have a special treat – free chair massages courtesy of EverHealth Chiropractic. We’ll also serve some goodies to go along with the massages – but we need your help! Please consider a cash donation through PayPal at http://ephspto.org/staff-appreciation/ or send a check (made out to EPHS PTO) to the school by mail or with your student (dropped at South Entrance Office; attention PTO). Thank you for your generosity!
