May 2021 Miller Merit Awards
As the hundreds of graduation applications are processed each semester in the Dean’s Office, those that are complete at the time of assessment are awesome! Minor declared, planned substitutions submitted, and total hours met. I want to recognize faculty advisers who had the greatest accuracy with the most graduation applications for May 2021 Graduation, so the College is presenting the “Miller Merit” award to the top two advisors in each department. Congratulations! ~Megan Miller

Chelcei Butler Named AQHA Registrar
Chelcei Butler, 11' B.S. Animal Science alumna took over as the Interim Director of Member Experience in September after some unexpected leadership change. She has been managing a team of nearly 140. "We are in charge of nearly all customer facing processes at AQHA: answering phones and emails, processing all paperwork like registrations and transfers, any and all DNA, memberships, opening mail and beginning to process work. As the search for a new Director came to a close, I have began transitioning into my new role as Registrar." “Chelcei is an exceptionally intelligent and talented lady. I had the pleasure to work with her in many roles while she was a student at WT and since then. She and her husband have become trusted and valued friends of mine and WT. Chelcei is a valuable asset to any organization that she is a part of. Her representation of WT as an alumnus should make WT proud.” - Dr. John Pipkin, Regents Professor; Director, Equine Program shared this about Chelcei.
What advice would you give to current students?
"I would say absolutely nothing is out of reach. I would never have imagined 10 years ago as a recent graduate I could have been the Director of Member Experience at the largest equine breed registry worldwide, or even the registrar! Remember to be great at the things you can be – like being on time, dressing for success, being observant and dedicated to your work, attitude, being coachable and prepared and doing extra – and all the rest will come. Those types of things are why you will stand out among all the others!"
