What are your memories of March 2020… of the moment everything changed and our world suddenly stopped?
"COVID” found it’s way into our wary conversations, grocery shelves emptied, our children’s school was on a computer screen. This pandemic profoundly disrupted what we had considered to be normal life. It was frightening, isolating and sad. Traditions were broken, St Patrick’s Day parades and festivities were cancelled… and that was only the beginning of our pandemic year.
One year later… March 2021, much of our world has changed; half a million people were lost, we’re still masked and keeping safe distances but the reality of a vaccine has eased some of that uncertainty and fear. With the coming of the Spring Equinox this weekend, comes “HOPE”. Hope of a return to ’normal’ or more likely, a new normal. Still no parades, but in Chicago, the river runs green again as some St. Patrick’s Day traditions are returning.
Here’s hoping the Leprechaun’s “pot of gold” is in the future for all of us.
