Next week the Connecticut General Assembly plans to meet for its third legislative session of the year. The complete list of bills that will be discussed has not yet been released, but we will inform you when it is. Governor Ned Lamont also signed into law one of the emergency certified bills that passed out of the senate last week: The CROWN Act.
Additionally, President Joe Biden signed the $1.9 trillion stimulus relief bill yesterday afternoon that will bring an estimated $10 billion to Connecticut. The bill includes funding $870 million for municipal aid to Connecticut cities and towns, 2.6 billion to Connecticut’s state government, $142 million for capital projects, $1.8 billion in educational aid, and $691 million to Connecticut counties, which will be dispersed to municipalities in proportion to their populations. The third round of stimulus payments to individuals was also included in this package. $1,400 checks should start to hit bank accounts this weekend.
