Greetings from Camp Echo!
This week, we enrolled over 800 campers in Camp Echo programs for Summer 2021. Thank you to our families for their patience and understanding during this unique registration process. We have sent confirmation emails to Phase 1 families.

For those of you still waiting to apply, we also appreciate your patience and there are still many spots available in our summer programs.

Below, Bernard shares a bit about the registration process learnings and gives a bonus tour of a Main Camp cabin!

Family Camp registration will be OPEN TO ALL families from Monday, February 15 at NOON - Wednesday, February 17 until NOON central via Google form. The form will be sent to returning families and be posted on our website. Registration for this initial phase of family camp registration is NOT first come, first serve.

Families who were registered and/or attending Summer 2020 will receive a direct email regarding priority registration.

Family Camp registration will shift to open enrollment (first come, first serve) on Wednesday, February 17 at NOON central time.

NEW Phase 3 Registration: Additional Programs
We know there are campers who want to sign up for multiple programs. We will allow all campers to add additional programs during our NEW Phase 3 Wednesday, February 24 at NOON - Friday, February 26 at NOON central time.

Any camper can submit an application for a second program during this time, with priority given to campers who were enrolled in two programs for Summer 2020.

Please see our website for more details about Phase 3.

Reminder for those of you thinking about multiple sessions at camp: we will not be offering layovers between sessions this summer. This will give our staff important rest for between sessions in a more stressful than regular season.
Seeking Support: BIPOC Camper Fund
Last week, a group of staff alumni launched a new fundraising effort for Camp Echo. The BIPOC Camper fund seeks to address racial inequity at Camp Echo beyond Camp Echo's sliding scale fee assistance, recognizing that COVID has disproportionately affected the BIPOC community and that many families will be experiencing additional financial hardship this summer. This fund will be used to bridge the gap for any self-identified BIPOC camper that needs support beyond what Camp Echo's sliding scale would award.

We are thrilled to have received donations from 93 families through the registration process and over 180 donors through Facebook!

If you would still like to make a donation, you can do so through the McGaw YMCA Website. Please be sure to designate your gift to "Gift Income Scholarship- Echo BIPOC Fund."

Camp Echo Wish List
Camp Echo has also compiled a specific wish list as we look to rebound from the financial impact of a canceled youth camp summer in 2020. Some items that we were ready to replace or add have been moved down our priority list. This list is an opportunity for friends of Camp Echo to help us in the areas that they are particularly passionate or excited about! Please click here to view the Camp Echo wish list.

To avoid any duplicate purchases, coordinate delivery, and ensure proper recognition, we ask that you let us know if you are purchasing or donating for a specific item by emailing our team!
