Dear Center for Irish Music supporters and students,

Spring term kicked off this week! We are thrilled to welcome 26 new students to the CIM. With our instructors hunkered down at home (during what would usually be a touring season), there is still lots of room in our classes for new students.

On Monday, St. Bridget's day, I had the pleasure of co-teaching this week's Singing Irish Songs at Home class to a sweet group of young singers aged 4-6. While some of us are sick of interacting online, others are just getting the hang of it! These young ones were managing their mute buttons, singing along and leading one another with silly dance moves with pure joy and enthusiasm. It was the highlight of my day.

We hope you will join us on Saturday, February 20th for Éigse CIM, A Virtual Gaela Event. Register now to bid on the silent auction (opening Feb 13th), make a contribution to the "Creating Community Through Irish Music" fund-a-need, and to enjoy entertainment by emcee Máirtín de Cógáin. The night will also feature musical performances by our students and instructors. The event is free, so it is the perfect opportunity to attend, and to invite all of your friends! Gaela boxes are sold out, but tickets to the event are unlimited.

Finally, I'd like to take a moment to thank CIM's volunteers and this year's Éigse sponsors. Our board of directors and Éigse planning committee are working hard to make this year's event a success. We are so appreciative of your time and dedication to the CIM.

Norah Rendell
Executive Artistic Director

WHAT IS ÉIGSE CIM, A VIRTUAL GAELA EVENT?
Each year, we invite community leaders, volunteers, and musicians to our home at the Celtic Junction for a celebratory evening of music, food, and philanthropy. While it isn't safe to gather in person this year, we have a plan that involves YOU!

The Center for Irish Music and our good friend, Grammy-nominated Cork native Máirtín de Cógáin, invite you to join us in celebration by throwing your own party at home. Find a crisp shirt, a favorite dress, a fun bow tie, or special piece of jewelry, and tune in for an evening of virtual entertainment, streaming live from the Celtic Junction stage where our Executive Artistic Director Norah Rendell and Brian Miller, her husband and CIM instructor, will co-host from their own dinner table. Máirtín will lead us in a classy evening from his home in California. You'll enjoy videos and live performances from our instructors, hear from Center for Irish Music students, and have the chance to bid on a wide range of items in our Celtic-themed silent auction, which opens for bidding February 13th.

Don't miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime 100% virtual Gaela. We look forward to seeing you on February 20th!

Thank you to our generous event sponsors:
