Dear JFK community,

The work being done on Pinos has extended beyond the original time frame we were given and will be continuing for the whole month of October. 

In order to help alleviate the traffic issues caused by the street work, we would highly recommend the following actions:

• Use the track or auditorium parking lot- at both morning drop-off and afternoon pickup. We have been able to reduce the wait times by being much more efficient. This reduces the number of cars on the roads and eliminates the need to have to find the limited parking spaces on the street. 
• Back in to the parking spaces on the street- at afternoon pickup time, if you will be going to the main entrance to pick up your child, when you park your car, back in to the street parking spaces on the perimeter of the school. One of the causes of traffic in the afternoon that we have observed, is that cars parked head in need to maneuver to back out in a way that causes additional delays. By backing in when parking, it will be a quicker maneuver to exit the spot. 

Once again, we remind everyone that double parking on the street is not permitted and only creates more traffic for everyone. Additionally, we need to respect the driveways of our neighbors and not use them or block them. It is up to all of us to remain patient, follow the rules and respect others at all times.

El trabajo que se está realizando en Pinos se ha extendido más allá del plazo original que nos dieron y continuará durante todo el mes de octubre.

Para ayudar a aliviar los problemas de tráfico causados por las obras de la calle, recomendamos encarecidamente las siguientes acciones:

• Utilice el estacionamiento de la pista o del auditorio- tanto para dejar a los estudiantes por la mañana como para recogerlos por la tarde. Hemos podido reducir los tiempos de espera siendo mucho más eficientes. Esto reduce la cantidad de automóviles en las calles y elimina la necesidad de encontrar espacios limitado de estacionamiento en la calle.
• Estacionar al revés a los espacios de estacionamiento en la calle- a la hora de recogida por la tarde, si irá a la entrada principal para recoger a su hijo, cuando estacione su automóvil, entra al revés a los espacios de estacionamiento en la calle en el perímetro de la escuela. Una de las causas del tráfico por la tarde que hemos observado, es que los coches estacionados de frente necesitan maniobrar para salir marcha atrás de forma que provoca retrasos adicionales. Al entrar a revés al estacionar, será una maniobra más rápida para salir del lugar.

Una vez más, recordamos a todos que no se permite estacionar en doble fila en la calle y solo genera más tráfico para todos. Además, debemos respetar las entradas de nuestros vecinos y no utilizarlos ni bloquearlos. Depende de todos nosotros tener paciencia, seguir las reglas y respetar a los demás en todo momento.
