Anna tells her story:

"Lviv, where we got married, was a remarkable city for both of us, but Kiril and I love to travel, we love to research new countries and cities, and we also dreamed about moving to another country one day. I admit that moving to a new country was a brave step. We had everything for a comfortable and happy life in Ukraine, but we wanted a challenge.

In May 2019, we arrived in Toronto. We had nothing in Canada except a desire to find a job, and we were thrilled to have an opportunity to get involved with ACE Tennis.
I remember the first practice with ACE. We lived in St Catharines, and had to leave the apartment at 4:30am in the morning to be in a club for Saturday's practice at 8am. It was about 40 minutes by foot to the GO Bus to Burlington, which took 1 hour and the we walked the 3,5km to Cedar Springs Club by foot again. The the return back to St. Catharines the same way. For sure, all our difficulties were worth it, and in July 10th, 2020, we officially became part of the ACE family. On July 10th, 2021, we our baby Monica came into the world. Our Canadian baby with Ukrainian roots!

And then on February 24th, 2022, Ukrainians' lives changed forever!
When we left Ukraine, we always knew we would have a home we could come back to.
Now - we don't. My parents just went through an arduous journey and just crossed the border into Georgia. It's a huge relief for my family. Every day, every second, we pray for our People, for our Army! Russian War takes Ukrainian Lives! "
