FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MARCH 2021
PMB Newsletter

Dear Supporter and Member:

It is with great excitement that I announce the launch of our Pontiac Marketing & Promotions Bureau (PMB) website. Over the last few years as a committee and coalition, we have worked to bridge the gap of communication, marketing, promotion, and support for the activities and image of our great city, the business community, and residents. Needless to say, we have had to meet many challenges, obstacles, and objectives in our effort to be as inclusive, informative, and current as possible. All with a committed effort that we could and would meet the needs of our members, residents, supporters, and businesses. Your input, ideas, suggestions, and feedback have been most valuable to the success of this project – the development of our website.

We all can support, The Pontiac Marketing & Promotions Bureau (PMB) website, and we hope it will long reflect our GPCC and Committee of 50 Coalition’s positive image. This (PMB) website is properly segmented with useful information designed to be helpful to our youth, seniors, businesses, community residents, visitors, colleges, universities, and more. This site will host a section for input, opinions, an area for good news and achievements, a section with an opportunity to advertise events or gain marketing support. The Pontiac Marketing & Promotions Bureau (PMB) in the Loop will reach your targeted audience and limit duplication. This website will grow as we grow and become a vital tool to ALL. We will be able to share:

  • News of new and upcoming businesses moving in our city. Words and messages from our city leaders, corporate executives, local residents, and Board of Education members.
  • The Lorene Phillips Scholarship information center will highlight scholarships and educational opportunities.
  • The Michigan Workforce section will identify state-wide programs.
  • A section on Leadership Training by the Oakland University/Pontiac Initiative, themed Hubert M. Price Jr. Leadership Symposium and as if that is not enough information on many of the non-profit social services available to the community.
  • Health News and information
  • A section for churches to promote their ministry social service activity.
  • Resident and community groups/announcements.
  • A Bi-Lingual section from LaAmistad
  • Identify what’s Happening On Main Street so we can visit, shop, and relax downtown.

To say I am excited is a small expression of my enthusiasm for the work of our communication committee. They did a GREAT JOB, so thanks, Theresa, Tom, Glen, Lisa, David, and Julia, for your lead and accomplishment.

Sincerely,

Rev. Douglas P. Jones
Chairman
