A LETTER FROM MRS. HOLMAN AND MRS. GIFFORD
Dear FES Families,

Spring is just around the corner, and boy are we ready for it! There is so much happening this last quarter of the school year. As you all know, a much needed spring break is approaching in just two weeks! Spring Break begins March 14th with students returning on March 21st. Once students return from spring break, we will jump into Parent/Teacher Conferences on March 24th and 25th. The following week, our 3rd-6th grade students will be gearing up for the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) state assessments. All 3rd-6th grade students will complete three units in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. In addition, 5th grade students will complete three units in Science. We know that state testing can bring on some stress for students, teachers and parents; however, our students are well prepared, and we are confident that they are going to SHINE!

This spring, please take some time to enjoy the longer days and warmer weather. The next three months are going to fly by!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Holman and Mrs. Gifford

MR. STOGNER
Ms. Watkins
Hello! This is my fourth year with the Fremont RE-2 School District. I am excited to bring the great world of learning to your child! I am a single parent with a daughter in college. Speaking of college - I am working on my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership with a Principal's licensure through Regis University. Both will be completed in December 2022. I have over 20 years of experience including public, homeschool and online learning as both an educator and parent.
5th grade is amazing...
Fifth grade has just completed Measurement Conversions in Math and are reviewing Addition and Subtraction of Decimals. In Language Arts, we are reading The Black Stallion, completing a Personal Narrative and studying Proper Mechanics of Writing Titles. We "round" out our days in Science with the study of Earth: Past, Present and Future.

At FES, we try to protect our instructional time. We thank you for helping us give teachers time to prepare for their classes in the morning. If you need to speak to a teacher after 8:00 am, we will ask you to leave a note or make an appointment. All visitors will be required to sign in at the school office and obtain a visitor’s pass. Thank you also for getting those after school messages into the office by 2:00 pm. This allows us to get messages to students with fewer interruptions and to ensure we have ample time to pass on the information.
Lost and Found
Please have your child check the lost and found for any items, clothing, or coats they may have misplaced.
From the Health Office:

March is health awareness month!

  • Eat healthier snacks, fruits and vegetables, the nutrition they provide is super beneficial for your health.
  • Water is important for overall health. Drink lots!!
  • Exercise everyday for at least 30 minutes keeping your heart rate up.

The weather can be very cold out right now so please have your children dress in layers and bring a coat with them to school everyday.

Immunizations are required by Colorado Law to attend school. Please be sure your student is up to date with immunizations. Exemption forms may be picked up in the Health Office.

If you have any questions the
Fremont Elementary Health Tech,
Shawnna Lancaster, can be reached at 719-784-6303 ext. 2601
Pre-Packaged Food Items
Any food brought to the school for parties, events, birthdays etc.…. should be store bought and have labels on them. The reason for this is because we have students with severe allergies such as, but not limited to tree nuts.  We are asking that you refrain from sending peanut or tree nut products to school. Please reference student handbook.
