January 5th, 2022
I have two calendars on my desk right now. One calendar is for the year 2021. As we have finished up the year 2021, this calendar is all marked up with the things I did and events that happened over the past year. This calendar is of no use to me now, except to help me remember what the previous year was like.

The other calendar is for the year 2022. This one is very nice and clean. It is all ready for me to start planning for next year. Whenever I make an appointment or have something important to remember, I will mark it on this calendar. Pretty soon, my new calendar will start to look a lot like the old calendar as time goes by.

Facing the new year and passing the old year behind, there are always some kinds of mixed feelings within us. On the one hand, it's exciting to look at a new and clean year and wonder what it will bring. But, on the other hand, it's a little bit scary to think about what might happen and how the world could change. Probably, this would be what most people feel at this point in their lives. Some people even become worried and frightened because they can't be sure of their future, and there is nothing wrong with being concerned about them.

However, we don't need to worry because, even though we don't know what the future holds, we know who holds the future. The future is in God's hands, so we can rest easy in the plans that God has made for us. Yes, like us, God also has plans for us. And once God sets plans in our lives, God will definitely work to make those plans happen.

So, let's not worry about our future. We can't be sure of tomorrow. But we have today. The only day that we can be sure of is today! And we know that God has planned this day for us. So, let's try to live our everyday the way God designed it for us!

"He has made everything suitable for its time; moreover he has put a sense of past and future into their minds, yet they cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end."
Ecclesiastes 3:11

May the unfailing love of our God be with us all the time.
