CATHRYN GRANGER
Mrs. Granger started working at Jefferson as the Health Clerk Assistant on December 8, 2020. She was born in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, Canada and attended the University of Brandon in Brandon, Manitoba.
Mrs. Granger's very first job was a dishwasher at a gas station restaurant. One thing that people may not know about Mrs. Granger is that she once worked as a guard in a jail.
Her favorite artist is Ed Sheeran and her favorite sports team is the LA Kings. Mrs. Granger enjoys reading books (her favorite is Circle of Friends by Maeve Binchy) and watching “old” comedies like Plane, Trains and Automobiles, Uncle Buck, etc. She is a big fan of John Candy.
Mrs. Granger's likes to travel. Her favorite place is Canada and one item from her bucket list is to go on an African Safari.
If she were to win the lottery, Mrs. Granger would pay for her children’s college education as well as for the education of her nieces and nephews, her kids' friends and her friends' kids. Then, she would buy a cabin at a lake in Manitoba.
Her biggest pet peeve is when her kids do not put their dishes in the dishwasher. One chore that she absolutely hates doing is grocery shopping.
If she could choose her age forever, Mrs. Granger would like to be 33 years old, because she loved the time when her kids were really small.
If she could have a super power, Mrs. Granger would love to be able to teleport as she could visit her family and friends all over the world whenever she wants.
Asked what skill she would like to learn instantly, Mrs. Granger mentioned "singing like a Broadway star".
If she could meet anyone, living or dead, Mrs. Granger would love to to meet Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Mrs. Granger mentioned that the last 10 months (since the pandemic begun) have made her a stronger person.
Her advice for kids who are struggling in school is to remember that things don’t always go as we plan or hope. Mrs. Granger advises them to take a breath and continue to work hard and to do their best. In her view, students need to celebrate and be proud of their accomplishments and they should not compare their successes with anyone else’s: "always be kind to others but just importantly, be kind to yourself".
For Mrs. Granger, success is setting goals and working hard to achieve them.
