August is already here! And that means the first day of school is just around the corner. Bring your backpack to worship this Sunday, August 13 to receive a special blessing and backpack tag from the Gethsemane community.

North Austin Safety Summit

THIS Saturday, August 12, 10 am - 5 pm

St. Mark United Methodist Church

The Safety Summit brings together seven North Austin neighborhoods impacted by crime and safety issues, including our church neighborhood, Georgian Acres. It is a free community event featuring speakers, workshops, and ways to connect with your neighbors. Register to attend.

Christmas in July THANK YOU

Many thanks for your generous donations of school supplies during the Dr. Carl Candoli Christmas in July School Supply Drive. The school supplies are being delivered to T.A. Brown Elementary this week, just in time for school to start.

Wednesday Midweek Connections

Wednesday Midweek Connections is such a special time at Gethsemane. Come for worship at Noon followed by fellowship in the Parlor.

Special Guests at Gethsemane

Many animals enjoy the Gethsemane grounds, including dogs from the Austin Humane Society and a flock of parrots. Check out another special guest spotted in the Bornemann Tree this week!

ELCA National Youth Gathering

July 16-20, 2024

New Orleans, LA

Gethsemane youth are eager to participate in a youth ministry tradition joining thousands of youth from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in New Orleans for the 2024 ELCA youth gathering: “Created To Be.” Gethsemane senior high youth have attended every ELCA youth gathering. All of this is possible because of the commitment to youth by the Gethsemane community. Thanks for your support! Keep all youth in your daily devotional prayers.
