Pest Management Solutions for Specialty Crops and Specialty Uses

The following is a recap of news and updates announced by The IR-4 Project during the month of December.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

A Note from Our Executive Director

Dear friends,

As we transition from 2023 into 2024, many will remember 2023 as being a milestone celebratory year for IR-4. Thank you for joining us throughout 2023 to commemorate the 60th year of IR-4. It has been meaningful for me to mark this major milestone alongside so many of you. Together we have celebrated the many ways that IR-4 impacts the specialty crop community—from generating economic growth, to increasing pest management options, to supporting healthy harvests.

I often say that it takes a village. As 2023 draws to a close, I wish all of you—the IR-4 village—a happy holiday season with those you love. Thank you for all you do to carry forward the IR-4 mission. Cheers to another 60 years!

We're Hiring at Headquarters

If landing a meaningful new job in horticulture is your New Year's resolution, we may have just the opportunity for you! The IR-4 Project seeks an Environmental Horticulture Program Manager to join its Headquarters team based on North Carolina State University’s Centennial Campus.

Reporting to the Executive Director, this role will coordinate research and pesticide (bio-based and chemical) registration activities on non-food, ornamental plant species. This position is aligned with the IR-4 Project mission to facilitate regulatory approval of sustainable pest management technology for specialty crops, including ornamental crops and other environmental horticulture uses.
