March is Women's History Month
Did you know that March is Women's History Month?

Women's History Month is a month dedicated to recognizing the accomplishments of women in American history and celebrating their contributions to society. This year the National Women's History Alliance's theme for Women's History Month is "Providing Healing, Promoting Hope." This theme honors caregivers and frontline workers and pays homage to the women throughout history that have inspired hope.

This Women's History Month, we honored Laurel House's Founding Mothers. Because of this group of dedicated and determined women, tens of thousands have fled domestic abuse and started a new life, one that is free from abuse.

This year, we are also remembering Betty Aptaker, one of the Founding Mothers and our first ever Executive Director.

We would also like to thank everyone who supported Laurel House during International Women's Day and Women's History Month, whether through monetary or in-kind donations, or supporting us in general. Thank you especially to Kendra Scott for hosting a Kendra Gives Back event for us during International Women's Day.

Throughout our 42 years of service to Montgomery County, Laurel House has been fortunate to have so many determined women dedicated to the fight against domestic violence.

Thank you to all the women who have helped make our work possible and who strive to end domestic violence!
DEI Committee Hosts Art Show
To celebrate Black History Month, Laurel House's DEI Committee hosted a virtual Black History Art Show!

Laurel House staff were encouraged to create posters, drawings, door decorations, and more, to celebrate Black history and learn more about the impacts Black people have made in art, science, politics, and more.

Laurel's Loft Celebrates Their 10 Year Anniversary!
The last 10 years have been an absolute privilege for Laurel's Loft. We have laughed together, cried together and been astonished at some of the amazing things that have been donated!

In addition to being your "neighborhood thrift store" Laurel's Loft is a place for people to get information on domestic abuse and educate the public on this very important topic.

Proceeds from Laurel's Loft contribute to funding Laurel House. Each purchase and donation helps to save a life. We are so grateful for 10 years of your support.

To celebrate, during March, we are raffling a Spartina and a Kate Spade handbag. Tickets are $3 each or 2 for $5. All proceeds go to Laurel House.

On Saturday, March 19th ONLY:
10% off ALMOST EVERYTHING
