Happenings

at Holy Cross House

Residents enjoyed a Christmas Concert in the chapel at Holy Cross House. It was an afternoon of entertainment and holiday cheer. The men of Moreau and friends wore holiday costumes and sang a mixture of mainstream holiday music and religious music to the crowd of priests and brothers.

Katrina Mangold joined the men at Holy Cross House as an Activities/Life Enrichment Coordinator. She recently held a meet-and-greet session with the community sharing details about herself and her professional background.

Holy Cross Christmas Card Competition

For a second year, schoolchildren enrolled at all Holy Cross sponsored parochial schools across the U.S. Province were invited to submit artwork for consideration in the Holy Cross Christmas Card Competition. This mission-engagement program has been well-received by our school principals and art teachers as a way to engage students across our Holy Cross family. Over 137 submissions were received this year! The Christmas Card Committee narrowed down the pool to finalists in each category and employees of the U.S. Province were invited to join a festive, in-person voting event hosted at Provincial Administration before Thanksgiving. Artwork of student finalists will grace the personal Christmas e-card of Provincial Superior Rev. William Lies, C.S.C., along with the Province Christmas Card, and Christmas cards distributed by the Office of Mission Advancement.

A panel of distinguished higher education experts were present, including Rev. Michael Garanzini, SJ, former president of Loyola Chicago and current executive director of the Association of Jesuit Colleges & Universities; Sister Andrea Lee, IHM, former president of Saint Catherine’s University and Alverno College; and Dr. Nathan Hatch, former president of Wake Forest University and provost of Notre Dame and current Notre Dame board member.
