COVID-19: Updated Event Policies
Due to increasing cases of COVID-19, Mercer University Campus Life has announced updated event policies. All departments, programs, and student groups hosting events are expected to comply with these policies. Contact your student affairs office if you have any questions.
Welcome, Anna Dunson!
The Skelton Medical Libraries are pleased to welcome our new librarian, Anna Dunson, to the Columbus campus. Ms. Dunson is the Assistant Director of the Skelton Medical Libraries. She received a BA in English Language and Literature from Columbus State University and her MLIS in Librarianship from Valdosta State University. Ms. Dunson has served in various library positions and her most recent role was as the Library Director at the Peterson Air Force Base Library in Colorado Springs, Colorado.   
Social Media as a Resident, Medical Student, and Beyond
Please join NEJM Resident 360 for a discussion about the opportunities and associated risks of social media usage as a resident and beyond. This ongoing discussion is active now through September 1.

Class of 2024 Summer Research
In order to identify student research opportunities, head of student research Gretchen Bentz, PhD, is asking for all MS2s who completed research projects outside of MUSM during the summer to share the details via this form.
National Hispanic Health Foundation Scholarship
The National Hispanic Health Foundation’s (NHHF) Hispanic Health Professional Student Scholarship application is open now through September 24.

Bear Health Educators
The Bear Health Educators (BEH) program is inviting medical students to speak to the BEH class on November 9 at 5pm about the effects of tobacco, nicotine, and vaping. BEH trains undergrads to help their fellow students maintain healthy habits in college. Please email Dr. Carol Bokros or Dr. Nichole Casaceli to learn more and volunteer.
Interreligious Dialogue: Religion and Health
Dr. Robert N. Nash of the McAfee School of Theology and Dr. Brian Childs would like to host a meeting of medical and theological students to discuss the relationship between religion and health. They are working to determine a date and time. The event will be held via Zoom on a Tuesday afternoon in September or October. Email Dr. Childs if you are interested and can be available on a Tuesday between 1:30 and 3:30pm. This invitation is open to all medical students. This event may be used as a basis for a more formal relationship between the medical school and school of theology. While voluntary, a student can note participation on their CV.

House Advisory Meeting

Join the first house advisory meeting of the year! This laidback meeting will include icebreakers, social time, and Q&As with upperclassmen. All MD students are welcome, but M1s and M2s are strongly encouraged to attend. Each house will meet in a designated location on your respective campus.

ACP Women in Medicine Webinar
