The mission of Daly City Public Library Associates is to raise private funds in order to supplement public funding of the Daly City libraries. This is accomplished by engaging community, civic and business support for fundraising, advocacy, and innovative programs that benefit our diverse community and promote greater awareness of the libraries’ valuable resources.
Since 2011, DCPLA has provided over $265,000 in funds for purchasing new books, technology, refurbishing libraries, maintaining facilities, and more. DCPLA’s board and membership include locally-invested businesses, community and education leaders who believe in the importance of Daly City libraries.

RESOURCES - Housing Aid, Direct Relief and Small Business Assistance
|
|
Greetings,
As the state’s fiscal officer, State Controller Betty T. Yee understands many people are facing financial difficulties during these uncertain times, and helping Californians through this crisis remains one of her top priorities. As such, Controller Yee has compiled resources to help individuals, families, and businesses more readily access available state and federal financial assistance programs. On the controller's website, you will find information ranging from direct financial relief, to housing aid, to small business assistance, as well as brief summaries of the programs and deadlines to apply. We hope these charts make the various programs easier to navigate, so all communities can apply for assistance they may not have known was available. We invite you to share these resources with the communities and constituencies you serve and help spread the word about these opportunities.
The State Controller’s Office also safeguards lost and forgotten property turned over to the state (e.g., bank accounts, uncashed checks, insurance benefits, wages, stocks, bonds, and safe deposit box contents) until claimed by the rightful owners. Potential owners can search for unclaimed property on the Controller’s database at www.claimit.ca.gov.
Please do not hesitate to contact our office if you have any questions, or would like more information.
Best,
Maria Unzueta | Director of Public Affairs

Spring 2021 - U.S. National Report Retail Moving Forward
|
|
"The new year for the retail industry started on a high note, with overall sales increasing by 5.8% - the best growth rate since October 2020. Every retail category grew month-over-month, with nearly 11% attributed to core retail and 22% to online retail. At the end of last year, the delivery of stimulus payments began to reach households and helped boost spending among lower- and middle-income consumers.Although core retail spending has seen growth, it is uneven across categories. Discount retailers, mass merchandisers and home improvement stores continue to flourish while apparel and department stores sluggishly recover. As consumers shifted more of their shopping to online, we saw four years of e-commerce growth compressed into a single quarter, as nearly 150 million people shopped online for the first time in 2020. Online sales remain strong but have retreated from their Q2 2020 high of 16.1% as the number of shoppers returning to physical stores increases. Colliers forecast online sales to represent 16.3% of total retail sales in 2021 as brands prepare for the return of the roaring ‘20s consumerism."
