HWY 11 Construction
The Wisconsin DOT is currently reconstructing 16.5 miles of multi-lane roadways in and around the Wisconn Valley Development. As part of this work, part of HWY 11 is being reconstructed and resurfaced. Work is scheduled to begin this spring and continue through the summer of 2021.
The WIS 11 Phase 2 Project will involve the full closure of WIS 11 just west of 56th Road in the Town of Yorkville and will begin April 5. The detour route is defined on the attached overview. Motorists are encouraged to use US 45, County KR and West Frontage Road to get around the closure. There will be a closure, along with flagging operations, in this area during the construction.

2021 marks the 27th presentation of the Parkside National Print Exhibition and over thirty years since the first show opened at UW-Parkside. For three decades, the PNPE has shown some of the finest examples of original prints from artists nationwide, and it is one of the longest-running competitive print exhibitions in the Midwest.

Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella: Cinderella will run Friday May 7 at 10 a.m. & 7 p.m.; Saturday May 8 at 7 p.m.; and Sunday May 9 at 2 p.m. Ticket and other information is available on Parkside’s Cinderella webpage. There’s also a special Matinee on Friday May 7 at 10 a.m., with a Talkback at 12:30 p.m.; the Talkback features original Broadway cast member Branch Woodman. The story is derived from the well-known fairy tale, particularly the French version Cendrillion ou la petite pantoufle de verre, by Charles Perrault and while the story follows the traditional fairy tale, in this version Cinderella opens the prince’s eyes to the injustice in his kingdom. The REDress Project Display: The REDress Project was a public installation created in response to the missing and murdered Native women epidemic in Canada and the United States. The red dresses memorialize thousands of lost women. The National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Native Women is May 5. In recognition of the day, come see the display in the Student Center display case on the D1 Level near the staircase from May 3-7, 2021.
