Mission Priorities

For the 2021-2024 quadrennium, United Methodist Women will have two mission priorities: climate justice with a focus on the Just Energy for All campaign, and criminalization of communities of color and mass incarceration, with a focus on Interrupting the School to Prison Pipeline campaign.

Eggs Benefit for AZCend

Trinity Donovan, CEO of AZCend and also Dayspring member, spoke to our unit in November.

She invites everyone to a  friend-raiser and fund-raiser to learn more how AZCEND serves people with food boxes, Meals on Wheels, homeless services, rent and utility  assistance and more.

AZCEND invites you to join us virtually for our Annual Eggs Benefit Event!
Tune in on February 9th, 2021 at 8 AM for this virtual event where you'll hear from both the Chandler and Gilbert Mayors, testimonials from program participants, and more about adaptations we have made throughout the pandemic to continue serving the community.

Knitted Together for God's Good Work

St. Matthew United Methodist Women held their UMW Sunday recently.  It was exceptionally well done. The guest speaker was Kathy Shock from First United Methodist Church in Tempe. Kathy is our conference representative to National's United Methodist Women's Program Advisory Group. The theme for the Sunday service was Knitted Together for God's Good Work, which is the United Methodist's Women's theme for 2021.   There was one little technical glitch during the service and one at the end but stay tuned as it picks up again. Don't miss the song, Knitted Together In Love, at the end by Hannah Shaffer, the choir director's daughter.      Click here to view the service.

Reading Program Books

Denise Riley has the new 2021 Reading Program books that the unit ordered. If you would like to read one of them, please give her a call to tell her what you want and then make arrangements to stop by to pick it up.   616-340-8680   No date has been set for putting the books in the library at this time.   Click here to view the list of books.
