Dear Residents –
Congratulations to all of our High School Graduates! It is an exciting time for you and your families. Remember, the sky's the limit for each and every one of you. Now go and enjoy your summer and, whatever you choose to do in the fall, be sure to enjoy the ride.
The petition in support of the Elizabeth Place Playground is growing, but it would be great to have a strong finish. We received letters of support from our local politicians and community leaders, but we need a few more signatures. If you are over the age of 18 and live in Rockland County and have not yet signed the petition, please do so today. A new playground will make a lot of children (and their parents) in Nyack and South Nyack very happy. Thank you in advance for your help.
On Friday, July 8th, there will be a guided tour of Town Hall. The tour is open to the public and everyone is invited to walk through the building to see for themselves why a new town hall is very much needed.
And, at long last, next Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 4 pm, Orangetown will be hosting the “official” Grand Opening of the new, all-inclusive playground at Veterans Memorial Park, starting with the unveiling of the name. I want to thank everyone who submitted name suggestions for the playground. Trust me, with so many creative ideas, it was not easy to pick just one (hint, hint). It will be an afternoon of fun for adults and children alike, so please join us.
With summer officially here, and as you are likely tired of “hearing” from me every Friday, I will be taking a summer hiatus from my weekly introduction. No worries, however, as there will still be a weekly newsletter filled with important information and events that are going on around Orangetown.
Stay safe everyone and see you in September!
Regards,
