The Allocation for Period A-177 (July 3, 2022 to August 27, 2022) was set by the Chicken Farmers of Canada Board of Directors on March 22, 2022 at 3.5 % above base as follows (in KG LIVE weight.)

The Farm Readiness Toolkit is intended to assist alltypes of agricultural producters, from any part of BC, to assess flood risk and asset vulnerabilities, and to identify suitable farm-level strategies for reducing potential impacts associated with flooding. |
|

Agriculture Flood Response Resource Hub April 2, 2022
A drop-in event for flood-affected producers and families to access resources, connect, talk and
share perspectives. Livestock and horticulture producers and families who have been affected by
recent flooding are welcome.
Organized in partnership by the BC Ministry of Agriculture, AgSafe BC, LMHIA and the Pacific
Agriculture Tradeshow.
No ticket is required to attend the Resource Hub, although a vaccine passport must be
presented at the door to Tradex.
The event will be held on April 2, 2022 from 10am to 2pm at the
Aviator Room, Tradex, Abbotsford.

Flood Stories Project
Drs. Michelle Superle and Robert Newell of the Food and Agriculture Institute at the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) are inviting farmers and their family members affected by the November 2021 flood to participate in The Flood Stories Project by sharing their experiences of the flood.

Highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) subtype H5N1 has recently been confirmed in four domestic poultry flocks in Ontario. Read more here.
This news demonstrates that avian influenza is continuing its course and that heightened biosecurity is of the utmost importance. Please continue to practice vigilance in implementing strong biosecuriyt on your farms to protect not only your flock, but your neighbouring flocks as well:
- Minimize direct contact between poultry farms and prevent contact with wild birds
- Avoid non-essential personnel entries to your farm premises and barns
- Change footwear when entering the Restricted Area and prevent wearing contaminated clothing and equipment in production areas
- Closely monitor flock health, including mortalities, feed and water consumption, and abnormal bird behaviour
- Immediately consult your veterinarian in cases of unexplained mortality or flock illness; submit unexplained mortalities for testing
- Follow the requirements of the On-Farm Food Safety Program for biosecurity
If AI is suspected on a farm, farmers should implement a self-quarantine, call their veterinarian and inform their provincial board office.
