Weekly One Takes with
Katherine Kerr
This week, Katherine Kerr, senior associate minister of congregational care and life, shares with us writings from a "Love Letter to the Earth," written by Buddhist monk Thích Nhất Hạnh. As we ponder the beauty of the earth around us, Covenant invites you to learn more about our new Outdoor Ministry. It combines fellowship events (like Hike with Covenant,) beautification programs (working in the Columbarium and Memorial Garden,) and educational programs that focus on climate change and justice.
2022 The Ties That Bind
Stewardship Campaign Update
Thank you so much for all of you who have pledged to support our stewardship campaign “The Ties that Bind.”

Your generosity will allow us to continue our work in the church, the community, and the world.

The Session will consider the budget tonight and present it to the congregation on Sunday, January 30, at the congregational meeting.

If you would still like to make a pledge, please click the link below.

We are grateful and look forward to sharing the budget with you on Sunday.
A Message from the ReOpening Task Force
January 18, 2022
As we make faithful decisions about our Covenant community, we continue to feel called to protect those in our congregation that are most vulnerable, especially our older members, children, and those who are not fully vaccinated. Current guidelines will remain in place until further notice. Masks (preferably N-95 or KN94) must be worn while attending Worship services or any indoor activity or event.

Going forward, we will continue to use the rolling 7-day average of the overall test positivity rate of 5.5% or less in Mecklenburg County as our guideline in making changes to the current policies for activities including worship, Sunday school, facility usage, recreation wing, food services, and overnight trips.

What this means for you Current guidelines in place as of January 5 will remain effective until the positivity rate is 5.5% or less. Our task force continues to meet on a regular basis, along with individual members monitoring the change in positivity rate daily.

We continue to be grateful to Covenant members for their prayers and support over the past 22 months. We remain optimistic of the projected “downturn” in the Omicron variant and hopeful we will be back to our “new normal” as spring approaches.

Continued Peace,
