… and Humor Month and Fair Housing Month. International Children’s Book day is April 2nd, followed by National Library Week which runs April 3 - 9 and on April 22nd, we mark Earth Day. Of course we cannot forget April 15th – tax day! For those who observe, Ramadan begins April 2nd, Passover begins April 15th, and Easter is April 17th. And we have books related to them all!
As this April newsletter is released, the number of Covid infections is once again increasing in our region. In order to keep our programs going and stay safe, we will postpone many in-person gatherings until May and continue meeting via Zoom. We still hope to celebrate Kathy Fiske’s Art Exhibition in the Mezzanine Gallery with an in-person closing reception at the end of the month. Please check below and visit the website for updates. Wearing a face mask while in the library is encouraged and very much appreciated!
During such a busy month, be sure to take time and notice the birds and flowers that are finally appearing. Perhaps celebrate a little-known holiday, created in the 1980s: National No Housework Day on April 7th?

Blank leaves are available to write down your poetic words – silly or serious, anything you wish… The form might be haiku or limerick, free verse or acrostic – you choose.
