Long days and busy schedules can make life stressful at times.
This message is to help you slow things down and reflect
on what is profoundly important.
DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF!
Today's inspirational message:
Follow These 7 Signs on the Road
to a Fulfilling and Spiritual Life:
1. KNOW THE POWER OF FAITH;
2. STUDY THE WORD OF THE LORD;
3. MAKE CHRIST THE CENTER OF YOUR LIFE;
4. USE FAITH TO RELIEVE STRESS; and
5. LISTEN TO YOUR HEART.
6. PUT GOD FIRST IN YOUR LIFE; and
7. ALWAYS REMEMBER TO GIVE HIM PRAISE
so that we may all be DRIVEN TO SUCCEED
and reap the benefits of a Fulfilling and Successful life.

May Is Also National Foster Care Month
|
|
 |
May is National Foster Care Month and is a time to recognize and thank all those foster parents, caregivers, mentor mothers, grandmothers, stepparents, surrogate fathers, and any other persons who had a hand in rearing foster and other children in need.
Let's give much appreciation to
these persons for nurturing, guiding, mentoring, and just giving foster kids
a kind word and a big hug--in addition to your Time, Talents, and Treasure--That has been YOU,
My Friends, as part of our AHP "Village of Supporters".

As we all know,
It Takes A Whole Village
to Raise A Child.

Aunt Hattie's Place (AHP)
AHP, a home for foster boys, was founded in 1997 to rear abused, neglected, and abandoned foster boys with special educational needs from ages 8 to 12 initially;
then went up to age 21 as the years passed.
We started with one home in Baltimore City; then in 2003 we opened another boys' home in Baltimore County (Randallstown); and the third eco-friendly boys' home, built from the ground up, was opened in 2010 in Montgomery County (Sandy Spring).
In the 22 years that AHP was opened, we reared over 100 young men, thanks to a dedicated staff, a committed Board of Directors, and numerous volunteers and supporters (see photos below of the three boys' homes over the 22 years opened).

Aunt Hattie's Scholarship Fund (AHSF)
|
|
 |
We formed a special fund, called Aunt Hattie's Scholarship Fund (AHSF) to help pay for our foster young men to attend college.
Foster youth are released from foster care when they reach age 18, leaving many homeless and almost impossible to even think of going to college. Therefore, my scholarship fund helps pay for them to live on campus during their education tenure.
AHSF fund helps pay for them
to live on campus and other expenses during their education tenure.

It was an incredible experience for Ray and the other participants from S.E.T
(Student Education Theater) to be adjudicated by actual Broadway artists for
this weekend of workshops on monologues, vocals, and drama.
She even had an opportunity to showcase one of her original songs.
At the end of the festival, our girl, Ray Ray, walked away with
FIRST PLACE for her age group for her Comedic Monologue;
Second Place for her Dramatic Monologue; and
