Dear Parents,
Thank you to all of the parents who filled out the Parent Satisfaction survey. The administration and the Board appreciate your feedback and are currently reading through all of the comments.
As I read through the responses, I want to reiterate that we encourage you to follow the Parent Communication Policy if there are issues that need to be addressed—which includes contacting us promptly if the situation warrants, so that we can help resolve any issues or concerns. We cannot provide solutions to issues that we don't know about. In some instances, you may think we already know about a situation, but that may not always be the case or you may have additional information to provide, so please don’t hesitate to contact us anyway. We are here to help!
You should have received a link to order your student(s) a field day shirt. The shirts are provided at no cost to all students by the PTO, but you must fill out the form to receive a t-shirt. Here is the link: https://forms.gle/UXcc4cHD7PVGmHgo7
As a reminder, tomorrow we do not have school, as it is a teacher comp day. This is a change from the posted calendar approved back in January. I hope that everyone enjoys a three-day weekend preparing for the last couple of months of school. We have so many events and activities planned that April and May will fly right by!
Mrs. Simpson

Calendar Reminders/Updates
|
Tomorrow, April 1, is a comp day for teachers and will be a day off for all students.
CMAS testing for grades 3-8 is from April 4 - 13. Please make every effort to be on time, and give your kiddo(s) a nutritious breakfast on test day. The testing schedules vary by grade, so please check the BFA calendar for specific details or look for an email from your student's teacher(s).
And, as there is a lot going on the next few weeks, we'd also like to give you an advance reminder that Wednesday, April 6, is a Formal Uniform Day. In addition, we added an EXTRA Dress of Choice day on Friday, April 15, for students if their parents completed the SAC Parent Satisfaction Survey earlier this year.

Middle School Charity Project
|
Each year Student Council selects a worthy charity to support as part of our mission to be civically engaged and give back to our local community. Our charity this year is RezDawg, a local animal rescue that relocates dogs and cats from high-intake shelters, animal control facilities, and reservations in the Four Corners area. These rescues are then relocated to animal rescue partners and forever homes in Colorado. Please visit their website for more information.
Middle school Charity Week will kick off with Dodgeball for Dollars on Thursday, April 21, and will end Friday, April 29. The two biggest fundraisers for middle school Charity Week are Dodgeball for Dollars and sales of the Charity Week 2022 t-shirt. Last week the student council asked middle schoolers to design this year's t-shirt. The winner of the t-shirt design contest is seventh grader Ariana Graves! Congratulations, Ariana!
T-shirts are available in MySchoolBucks from today through 2 p.m. on Friday, April 8. (To have the shirts ready to hand out on April 21, we cannot extend the deadline past April 8.) Late orders will not be accepted. The shirt will be white and the design printed in navy, blue and red. Middle school students may wear the shirt to school with uniform bottoms. The cost of the t-shirt is $20; and all proceeds, less the cost of printing the shirts, will go to RezDawg.

If you think your student would want to come on this trip, the kick off informational meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 11, in the Middle School Commons. Attendees will learn about how to sign up, the costs associated with the trip, as well as other important information.

Say Thanks with SCRIP - Collections Begin Saturday
|
BFA will use SCRIP for end of year staff gifting again this year. Collections will take place April 2-10 with gift cards being distributed during Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week (May 2-May 6). A form for preschool-only families will be available online by April 2. The completed preschool form and a check need to be dropped off in the PTO lockbox located in the BFA front office by April 8.
This convenient, online program replaces room parent collections and facilitates convenient group gifting. Each family makes one payment through MySchoolBucks for all of their teacher and staff gifts.
At the end of collections, each staff member will receive an email with the total collected on their behalf and is able to select gift cards they would like to receive.
Participation in the SCRIP program is completely voluntary. You are welcome to participate with any amount, or alternatively gift the teachers and staff on your own. Families will be able to place SCRIP orders via MySchoolBucks and pay by credit card. You may designate how much you would like to give to each teacher/staff member in one-dollar increments.
Questions? Visit the PTO webpage or contact Natalie Lucero, SCRIP coordinator.
