City Operations
The next City Council meeting is in person on September 20. The meetings will also continue to be streamed live at 7:30pm and can also be accessed on the City’s YouTube channel. The agenda can be found on the City's website. You are also welcome to watch the Council Committee of the Whole meeting that will begin at 6:30pm and then proceed directly into the City Council meeting. Please use the same link noted above. Two Finalists For CH Mayor selected
Cleveland Heights residents will go to the polls on November 2, 2021 to select their first directly elected Mayor. After Tuesday’s Primary election, Barbara Danforth and Kahlil Seren, the two highest vote-getters, will be on the ballot in November.
 
Final Weekend of 2021 Cain Park Season
Cain Park enters its final weekend of performances with free concerts by Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Playboys tonight, September 17, at 8pm and by the Pat Harris Quartet on Sunday, September 19 from 1 to 4pm. Under the Streetlamp on September 18 has been canceled due to reasons beyond their control; refunds are available at point of purchase.
 
Drive-Through Food Distribution at Community Center
The Cleveland Heights Community Center is partnering with the Cleveland Food Bank to be a distribution point for The Farmers to Families food box program providing farm fresh food to Cleveland Heights residents in need. The next distribution date is September 23 at the Community Center, 1 Monticello Blvd. Those interested must call 216-691-7377 in advance to reserve your box since supplies are limited.

Green Team Fall Clean-up September 18
The Cleveland Heights Green Team partners with the Heights Corridor Clean Up crew to help beautify the Mayfield Corridor between Taylor and Coventry on Saturday, September 18. Meet up at 10am at the Starbucks on Mayfield and Lee Roads.
 
COVID Vaccine Clinic at MetroHealth September 18
MetroHealth is hosting a COVID-19 vaccine clinic for Cleveland Heights/University Heights students, families, and staff on Saturday, September 18 from 11am to 1pm at the Cleveland Heights MetroHealth Pharmacy (10 Severance Circle). Anyone 12 and older can receive the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine; walk-ins are welcome. There will be food and giveaways for attendees.
 
LWV Candidates Night September 23
Candidates for Cleveland Heights mayor and council will present short statements and answer written questions submitted by the audience. Citizens can submit questions at the forum and beforehand by emailing heights@lwvgreatercleveland.org. Presented by the CHUH Chapter, League of Women Voters of Greater Cleveland. Visit the LWV website for livestreaming details. Co-sponsored by Heights Libraries and FutureHeights.
 
Pekar Park Comic Book Festival and Heights Music Hop on September 18
Pekar Park in Coventry Village hosts the Pekar Comic Book Fest from 1 to 5pm on September 18 followed by a free screening of Big Hero 6 in PEACE Park. The re-imagined Heights Music Hop returns on September 18 beginning at 5pm in the Cedar Lee district featuring 12 bands and three outdoor stages.
