Hillside Named National School of Character
Hillside School has been named a 2021 National School of Character!

National certification is the highest level of distinction bestowed by Character.org. Schools receiving this designation have demonstrated excellence in establishing a school culture that exemplifies and brings to life the 11 Principles Framework for Schools: A Guide to Cultivating a Culture of Character.

In addition to its continuous efforts to create a caring and compassionate culture, Hillside complete a rigorous application process and navigated two rounds of evaluation to achieve this honor. Hillside will be formally recognized and celebrated at Character.org's all-virtual fall Forum, October 20-22, 2021.

"We are excited to own this designation for another five years. While the application process was lengthy and even daunting, at times, we were able to successfully demonstrate our proficiency towards the 11 Principles Framework for schools. We thank the members of the staff, and parent and student communities, who participated in this process," said Principal Carlos Gramata. "This designation highlights the school community's collaborative efforts and focus on character education, and we proudly share it with our students' first teachers of character--their families!
Congratulations, Hillside School Community, on a very well-deserved recognition!"
