Dear Kehillah,

Below, Kehillah Board Chair, Jonathon Manson has a message to share with our community.
Dear Kehillah Community,
We are very fortunate to be a school with so many talented and committed professionals and I am writing to let you know that our own Dr. Daisy Pellant has been selected to participate in the highly selective Klingenstein Center Heads of School Program at Columbia University’s Teachers College. This fellowship is awarded to 20 Heads of School each year and is fully funded. It is a great honor for Kehillah to be represented in this program.

Daisy will spend two weeks (January 22-February 4) in New York, where she will be immersed in the program. She is looking forward to this experience and the opportunity to learn from experts and experienced colleagues.

To ensure complete focus by the participating Heads, a characteristic of this fellowship is that it requires Board approval and the appointment of an administrator to lead in the Head’s absence. While Daisy is away, Kehillah will be under the extremely capable leadership of Patti Carbery.

Please join me in congratulating Daisy on this honor and welcoming Patti into the role of temporary Head of School.

Best,
Kehillah Board Chair

Honoring Tu B'Shvat and MLK Day as a Community

Kehillah observed both of these holidays by planting an apple tree and spending some time in reflection around the meaning and significance of these poignant days. In our design thinking challenge portion of the day, Dr. Egdorf's Advisory won the most points and was then able to plant a Kehillah apple tree. You can read more and view pictures and videos of the days activities at the link below.

The scoring was spread out amongst many players and were led by Yaara B. (8 points), Avi K. (7 points), Ilana K. (7 points), Sara R. (7 points).

The boys followed in the nightcap with a dominating performance. They jumped out to a 16-3 lead and led 26-5 at halftime. With nearly everybody scoring, the boys came away victorious by a final score of 46-21, and were led by Tobey M. (9 points), August B. (7 points), and Andreas F. (6 points).

Upcoming Performance:
BFF: March 2, 3, and 6, 2022

The Salon's next production -- BFF, by Anna Ziegler -- Ziegler's insightful drama explores the complex relationship between two best friends.

In BFF -- the acronym stands for Best Friends Forever -- the playwright suggests that a frequent ingredient in the complex relationship between girls is guilt. It's a valuable insight -- and one that Ziegler probes keenly in her fine 90-minute play.
