📢 Employment Opportunity!
The Homeless Action Network of Detroit (HAND), is seeking an experienced consultant to help us identify a new Coordinated Entry Lead Agency. We are looking for a consultant/contractor to serve as project manager to oversee the successful transition and onboarding of a new Coordinated Entry Lead Agency. If you feel that your expertise is a good fit for this role, please submit a proposal. All submissions are due no later than 5pm on December 19th.

Veteran Housing Flex Fund
For the second year in a row, HAND is partnering with Community Solutions Built for Zero and Rocket Mortgage for the Veteran Flex Funds program. Working with local homeless service providers, the program provides veterans a one-time grant for housing-related expenses. This includes first month's rent, security deposit, move-in assistance, utilities, and more! View last year's program outcomes here. And stay tuned for more information.

Recruiting Employers for Job Fair
Wednesday, December 14th from 1pm-5pm
Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency (Wayne Metro) is hosting a job fair and recruiting employers.

COVID Emergency Rental Assistance (CERA) allowed Wayne Metro to temporarily hire 150 workers. Funding ending in late December will leave 100+ staff without employment. 

The job fair is to help workers obtain permanent employment in the human services field; in positions related to customer service, data entry, call center, administration, and management with comparable pay. These staff members are highly skilled, professional and employable.

The job fair will be held at the Wayne County Community College District - Downriver Campus, 21000 Northline Rd. Taylor, MI 48180 (First Floor Rooms-EPAC 3 & 4 and Concourse).

2023 Housing Policy Forum

The National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) forum will offer participants opportunities to engage with and learn from thought-leaders, tenant and community leaders, policy experts, researchers, affordable housing practitioners, and leaders from Capitol Hill who will discuss the state of the affordable housing crisis in America and its solutions. Registration for the event opens November 28.
