Windham eSports with GG Leagues

Windham Parks and Recreation is partnering with GGLeagues to offer eSports leagues for anyone ages 8+, kids and adults! All competition will be between participants from recreation departments throughout the state of Maine.

Spring '21 Games: Rocket League, Madden 21, Super Smash Bros and Fortnite.

Easter Bunny Parade
Saturday, April 3rd starting at 10:00 am
Once again this year the Easter Bunny will be riding in style to a neighborhood near you! The Easter Bunny Parade will travel throughout the town of Windham. The parade route may be viewed by clicking here or visiting our website. We hope that you and your family can plan to enjoy the parade while waving hello to our favorite bunny friend!
2021 Easter Egg Hunt
March 29th - April 7th
Join us for the first annual Windham-wide Easter Egg Hunt, in cooperation with our friends at the Sebago Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce!

How does it work?
  • Participating businesses and town departments will have a numbered Easter Egg sign displayed in a window.
  • Community members are invited to drive around Windham “hunting” for the eggs.
  • Prize drawings will be held for participants who find half of the Easter Eggs, and for participants who find them all!

Egg Hunt worksheets will be available online and in the Parks and Recreation office starting Monday, March 29th.

Family Game Night Boxes
Must be reserved by Friday, April 9th.

Looking for family activities to enjoy over April vacation? Reserve a Family Game Night Box, and we'll help you plan an evening of fun together.

Family Game Night Boxes will include:
  • Supplies and directions for family-friendly table games
  • Directions for other family games with no supplies required
  • Fun Snacks

And two randomly selected Family Game Night Boxes will have a special prize hidden inside! One box will include a season pass to Dundee Park, and one box will include a $50 gift certificate to a local restaurant to add to the evening's fun.

Enjoy a night in with your family and create memories together with the help of Windham Parks and Recreation!

Family Game Night Boxes are $10. Boxes must be reserved by Friday, April 9th and will be available for pick up beginning Tuesday, April 27th.

Youth Programs
Creative Kiddie Craft Time
For ages 2 - 5
Children ages 2-5 and their adult caregivers are invited to craft and create together! This is spinoff of the previous popular “Seasonal Creations” program, updated to allow us to comply with health protocols. Moms and dads, grandparents, babysitters, aunts and uncles… All are welcome to join us at Town Hall for simple craft projects with all supplies provided.

Space is limited by our facility capacity; per the governor's order ALL participants over the age of 2 will need to wear masks for the duration of the program.
Craft: Grass Head Planters
Dates: April 28th & 29th
Time: 10:00 am
Fee: $5 per child
Tennis in the Parks
For Grades 1-8
Led by an approved USTA NetGeneration tennis coach, the program will focus on developing the skills to serve, rally and play - so it’s perfect for beginners. Once the skills are there, participants will play fun matches with other players in the program. This program uses modified tennis balls, age-appropriate rackets, court sizes, and the latest fun and engaging activities that help players successfully learn and play the game quicker!

All players in their first session receive and keep a new age-appropriate racket, ball, and Net Generation tee shirt!

Tennis program will adhere to social distancing guidelines. Please bring a mask for your child.

Dates: Sundays, May 2nd – June 13th (no tennis on 5/30)
Times: Grades 1-2 (Red Ball) 11 am - 12 pm
       Grades 3-5 (Orange Ball) 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
       Grades 6-8 (Green Ball) 1:45 pm - 2:45 pm
Fee: $65 per person

Registration for Windham residents opens 3/29; non-resident registration opens 4/5.
Mad Science
for Grades K-3
Have you ever seen your child show an excessive enthusiasm for science or as we call it, “Mad Science Maine-ia”!? We invite you to blast off into the 21st century with Mad Science as we open your child up to a world where they will explore the many exciting aspects of Engineering. Build model bridges, explore circuits, learn how airplanes defy gravity, and get hands-on with rocket propulsion.
Dates: Wednesdays, April 7th - June 2nd
(no class 4/21 for school vacation week)
Time: 3:00 pm-4:00 pm
Fee: $109 per child
Summer Kids Club
Registration opens Monday, March 29 at 8:00 am
Send your child to one of our kids clubs this summer and give them a summer experience to remember! Campers will have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of activities including arts and crafts, physical fitness, sport skills, swimming, outdoor education and games. We offer various enrollment options so parents can design a schedule that works best for their family.

Adult Programs
Tennis in the Parks for Adults
Led by a USTA approved coach participants will have fun and get great exercise while developing the skills to serve, rally, and play tennis. The program perfect for first-time and beginner players, as well as returning novice players.

All players in their first session receive and keep a new tennis racket!

Dates: Sundays, May 2nd – June 13th (no tennis on 5/30 for Memorial Day Weekend)
Times: 3:00 pm-4:30 pm
Location: Windham High School Tennis Courts (behind the school) 406 Gray Rd, Windham, ME
Fee: $81 per person
Senior Programs (55+)
Car Bingo Scavenger Hunt

With the long Maine winter behind us, you are invited to get out and ride along with us. This won't be just any ordinary ride, as we'll be playing Scavenger Hunt Bingo. Everyone will get a Bingo card as you board the Parks & Recreation bus and you can enjoy a scenic ride as we search for the items on your card.

Prizes for our "Bingo" winners, plus an extra surprise for all!

Time: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Fee: $5
Monthly Curbside Pickup Senior Lunch
For ages 55+
We are continuing to offer our Monthly curb-side “to go” meals with the pick-up location at Town Hall, outside the gym door. Due to the limitations caused by COVID-19, there is very limited seating opportunities in the gym (with safety measures being in place). Registration is required by the Wednesday before the meal date.
Meal provided by Rustler's Steak House

Weekly Shopping
For ages 55+
Join Windham Parks & Recreation every Thursday morning to go shopping in North Windham. This program is FREE and for seniors who can't drive or get to a store on their own. Due to the limited number of people that can be on the bus at one time, participants are required to call our office and reserve your spot between Monday - Wednesday of that week. The route and the times may vary slightly each week based upon the number of participants that reserve a spot. Picking up from different locations may require a slight wait. Call us at 892-1905 to reserve your spot.
