💟 Happy February!
Welcome to our Newsletter
In February, we celebrate Heart Month with Valentine's Day...the Clancy & Associates team has a lot of love to share with our clients and friends! We are grateful for the meaningful relationships we've developed over the past 20 years of serving the special needs community.

This year we've decided to show our love for our client Special Olympians by participating in the Chicago Polar Plunge in just a few weeks! We're shivering just thinking about it, but know we are freezin' for a reason!

Clancy & Associates Ltd. is Illinois' only full-service special needs planning law firm dedicated to supporting individuals with special needs and their families. Our mission is to help families protect and empower their loved ones with a disability through streamlined, comprehensive planning. We use our innovative full-service approach to both identify opportunities and secure solutions and benefits for our clients at our Firm. We “keep watch” for families so they can attend to the daily priorities of their loved one’s life and leave the legal planning to us.
💬 Around the Office...
Big News! Clancy & "ICE-sociates" is doing the Polar Plunge in Chicago on March 6th and would love your support! We are a part of Team Eileen-In, led by a very charismatic young athlete named Eileen.

This body-numbing experience raises money for Special Olympics Chicago - a fantastic organization that provides sporting events for people with intellectual disabilities. Please sponsor us and the many Olympians 🏅 we serve at Clancy & Associates. We are plunging for both personal and professional reasons!

Please take a moment to visit our fundraising page and learn why my family and the Clancy & ICEsociates support this incredible organization!

Legal News
While there is no such thing as a "typical" divorce, a divorcing couple that has a child with special needs faces an even more complicated series of decisions and choices than most. In these cases, it is important to meet with a special needs planner to discuss options for your child. Read more here.
We have some good news! The maximum amount that can be contributed each year to an ABLE account for a person with disabilities rose $1,000 to $16,000 on January 1, 2022.
After being off-limits to most members of the public since March 2020, Social Security Administration (SSA) offices are set to reopen on March 30, 2022, barring an unexpected snag in negotiations with unions representing agency workers or a major change in the pandemic’s course. Read the article.
👋 Client Spotlight

“We put off establishing a Special Needs Trust for our son, because we were sure it would be very difficult and overwhelming. However, Katie's team guided us all the way through it in a professional and caring manner. She was also very helpful creating our Estate Plan. We thank you, Katie, and highly recommend your expertise and legal knowledge.”
