Travelers visiting Central Florida for the holidays will be greeted by a transformed north entrance to Orlando International Airport. The reconfiguration of the State Road 528/SR 436 Interchange, including landscaping, will be complete by Thanksgiving.
This $118 million CFX signature project includes seven new bridges at the interchange, signage and lighting, and a travel lane in each direction of SR 528 between Conway Road and Goldenrod Road. The improvements, which included replacing two loop ramps with gently curving flyovers, ease congestion and provide a smoother ride through the interchange. The landscaping features a bold, staggered tree canopy with palms and native plants, giving visitors a warm welcome to our region.
