A Nation Divided: How One Decade Can Change Everything is coming up on February 18th, 2021!
|
|
Join us for a free virtual event on February 18th at 6:00 P.M. as we take a look back at the 1850's and 1860's to see how we can apply those lessons to our current political divide.
"A Nation Divided: How One Decade Can Change Everything" will debut on February 18th at 7:00 P.M. as Missouri Humanities Executive Director, Dr. Steve Belko convenes with fellow scholars Jay Sexton and Silvana Siddali to offer context and commentary about how ideological polarization has led to division and even war. A short film, “A Nation Divided: How One Decade Can Change Everything,” will premier and will be followed by a live panel discussion and Q&A.
This program was funded by the "Why it Matters: Civic and Electoral Participation" initiative, administered by the Federation of State Humanities Councils and funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

The #CivilityChallenge is a hands-on exercise using a conversation deck that aims to help Missourians consider how they want to regard their fellow citizens on the other side of the partisan divide.
Only 300 Missourians will receive these free conversation cards. This challenge is part of "Why It Matters: Uniting a Polarized Nation." Learn More About Why It Matters
