Just like that it is January, and a new year welcomes Community Living Trent Highlands.
The last few months of 2023 were extremely busy at CLTH. We have worked diligently learning, learning and growing in our understanding of diversity and inclusion for everyone. Our staff team is more richly diverse now that ever before, and that diversity is making everything better.
In an agency that has long celebrated the gifts and talents of everyone, it has been a wonderful experience to work to ensure that we are equally invested in every part of our agency. We have spent time learning about different cultures, festivals, celebrations and food.
I think we are deepening our understanding of what it means to deeply respect differences and being committed to truly accepting people's gifts. Our staff holiday party was a celebration of all the holidays observed at that time of year, and involved some of the traditions of many. Huge thanks to the Diversity, Inclusion, Culture and Equity committee members for this challenge to us all to be more mindful of everyone's part in the tapestry of CLTH.
We worked hard to complete the QUEST review of our services and compile the information. As ever, the goal of continuous quality improvement is to look at where we are and create a road map that will move us to something better. Goals were planned for this year for the agency and for the QUEST process.
Now as we look to the fresh new year, building on all that we learned in 2023, we go forward with great hope that we will continue to learn and pull together. In honouring each person in our supports, on our team, supporting us, in our community we can keep moving toward our mission of inspiring respect and equality for all people.
