What has been the most unexpected part of staying in Cape May?
It's been an unexpected pleasure to be working with Roy again after all these years, and Kirsten after seven years. It's also great fun to work with Kevin and Karack for the first time.
What are some of your favorite Christmas traditions?
My Christmas tradition is to go out for Chinese Food with my family.
What is your favorite holiday movie?
My favorite holiday movie is "It's a Wonderful Life".
Through the visions of Hugh's past, we see some of the people that inspired his love of theatre. Who inspired you the most to pursue a theatrical career?
Some of my early teachers inspired me, like the acting teacher/director in the play.
Since you have played Scrooge before, much like the character you play, can you empathize with Hugh's Bah Humbug spirit?
Having played Scrooge many times, I do sympathize with him and his Humbug attitude, but I also think that the message of redemption in the play still resonates today.

What has been the most unexpected part of staying in Cape May?
I love beach-combing here! I have found some amazingly beautiful shells and some crazy-cool intact crab skeletons and skate egg cases (AKA mermaid's purses)!
What are some of your favorite Christmas traditions?
Anything that has to do with lighting up the darkness and remembering that the light is returning even though it's the darkest time of the year. So, any of those good ol' solstice traditions, whether they are strictly "Christmas" or not: yule log, lighting menorah candles, etc. I put up colored lights in my window on Thanksgiving and they'll be there until New Year's Day at least! I love shining a light out into the darkness both literally and metaphorically.
What is your favorite holiday movie?
It's a tie for me between "Miracle on 34th Street" and "Love Actually".
Through the visions of Hugh's past, we see some of the people that inspired his love of theatre. Who inspired you the most to pursue a theatrical career?
I have been blessed with so many amazing teachers over the years, but the thing that inspired me most to pursue a theatrical career was seeing live theatre when I was a kid and for that I have my parents to thank.
You get to play several characters in An Actor's Carol, which is your favorite to play and why?
They're all fun in their own way, but I think my favorite may be Tina, who gets to be in the play at the beginning, middle and end. She gets to go on a bit more of a journey than my other characters do. And I think she's the closest to me (though unlike Tina I don't get confused between David Beckham and Samuel Beckett). Plus Tina gets to wear some of my favorite costumes (thanks to our wonderful costume designer Sera Bourgeau)!

What has been the most unexpected part of staying in Cape May?
The other day someone at the theater said “It’s hard to get a bad meal in Cape May.” And, at least so far, I agree! I’ve been to a couple of the restaurants in town, and every time I’ve left saying “I’ve got to get back here – that was great.”
What are some of your favorite Christmas traditions?
I’m not sure that I have any specific favorite tradition… I love the moment when my family all gathers in one room with bags and boxes to exchange gifts. It gets loud, fun, and a little chaotic, and I love it.
What is your favorite holiday movie?
"It’s a Wonderful Life"... Great movie, great story, Jimmy Stewart. How can you top that? (Though the animated Grinch movie comes close.)
Through the visions of Hugh's past, we see some of the people that inspired his love of theatre. Who inspired you the most to pursue a theatrical career?
Seriously, no single person got me started on this path – it’s been a combination of many terrific teachers, from high school, to college, and professionally.
You get to play several characters in An Actor's Carol, which is your favorite to play and why?
That’s like choosing your favorite child (or favorite pet… or favorite ice cream…) Impossible! I like them all!

What has been the most unexpected part of staying in Cape May?
I'm a big fan of architecture, so I really enjoy the downtown/beach section of town with all the old Victorian homes. I’m also a big fan of Christmas lights so I’m looking forward to the tree lighting and seeing the town in December. Also thrilled to be near a WaWa again.
What is your favorite holiday movie?
"White Christmas" is my favorite film of all time.
You get to play several characters in An Actor's Carol, which is your favorite to play and why?
From a practical perspective, I like Marty as his main purpose is to set up the conceit of the piece in terms of its theatricality. Also, he’s an amalgamation of several people I know in real life so it’s fun to (lovingly) exaggerate them slightly. However, my favorite character in the whole play is the Janitor played by Kevin.

Welcome to the wicked wonderland!. Out of work and middle-aged, a writer in need of holiday cash decides to dabble in the trade of elfdom at Macy’s Department Store. Besieged by bratty kids with overzealous parents and donning a humiliating costume, he finds that his cynical self and his elfin alter ego, “Crumpet,” are not exactly compatible. His remedy is to tell all – giving us a backstage pass to the secret lives of Santas and elves. Though definitely not your traditional stocking-stuffer, this caustic Christmas carol is a laughter-spiked antidote to the holiday blues.
Sardonic, satirical and sarcastic, the merry misanthrope recounts the tale of his stint as a Macy’s Department Store elf named Crumpet. Adapted from David Sedaris’ best-selling book
Holidays on Ice
, this holiday tale is a modern classic, made famous when it aired on National Public Radio.

Tweeting, politics, and undying giddiness for James Madison – what else could you expect to find at a “Miss America” pageant? In this hilarious, raucous, all-female “power-play” inspired by Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew”, contestant Katherine has political aspirations to match her beauty pageant ambitions. All she needs to revolutionize the American government is the help of one ultra-conservative senator’s aide on the cusp of a career breakthrough, and one bleeding-heart liberal blogger who will do anything for her cause.
