Weekly Newsletter 09/29/2023

Dear Parents,

Lots to report this week...First, thank you to all the families who assisted in selling or purchased a Papa John's Pizza card.  We sold 250 cards so $2,500 will be used to support our gardening program. CONGRATULATIONS to the two top sellers who will get a PAPA JOHN'S PIZZA PACK. They both sold between 25 and 30 cards. They are Kaiden Jenkins and Daviel Padilla. The winning class was Blue Door. They will be getting a pizza party.

This weekend we are having the grass covered over with gravel, 15 big bags of potting soil will be delivered and we have 128 tomato plant that will go into the garden next week. We have plans for 7 of our classes to plant on Tuesday and Friday. PHOTOS TO FOLLOW....

I have heard that many of you are loving the NO COOK WEDNESDAYS. This week 55 pizzas and 15 jumbo brownies were enjoyed by our families and $85 was donated to the Live Like Bella Childhood Cancer Foundation. How wonderful that families can enjoy yummy dinner while contributing weekly to help kids with cancer. Please remember if you wish to order to sign up NO LATER THAN MONDAY for your order. To make it easy on Joe and to speed up the delivery process, we will bill all meals to Brightwheel.

In addition, Joe was so inspired by our willingness to help others, that he is pledging to donate 10% of ALL his sales in ALL of his venues for the month of October to the Live Like Bella Foundation so....Eat Pizza, take a night off of cooking and continue to help us to help others.

In a blink of an eye we will say goodbye to September. With October rolling in we are already preparing for our annual Halloween Happening. At Kids For Kids Academy, we pride ourselves on teaching our students to help others and be kind. Halloween time is fun for all kids, but kids who are homeless and living in a shelter do not always enjoy the simple pleasures of a costume or a bag of candy.

We will be having a used costume drive to donate to the kids living at the Chapman Partnership Homeless Shelter. If you have any costumes at home you no longer need, please send them in and we will pass them along. Also, information about our Halloween Happening will be coming soon.

Heads up...We do not allow candy to be passed out at our event, we know that most our students will get candy in their neighborhoods. Homeless kids don't have a neighborhood to trick or treat in. That is why for the past 25 years, we have donated 200 bags each year to the shelter so that homeless kids can enjoy the simple pleasure of a bag of candy. This also teaches our students ways to be kind to others. Again, be on the lookout for the information poster.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Beth Rosenthal Davis, Ed.S, NBCT
