What the American Rescue Plan means for Main Street.
View this email in your browser
With recent federal funding made available through the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan (ARP), Main Streeters should be aware of key opportunities to support small businesses in your district and to spur revitalization across your community. This is a key moment to collaborate locally to ensure that Main Street is part of recovery planning.

Multiple sources of funding available through the ARP may be applicable to particular projects or help fill budget gaps created by the pandemic. We invite everyone to join a webinar on Tuesday, April 27th to hear more about the funding opportunities through the American Rescue Plan, ideas for Main Street use, and give your feedback about what you’re hearing locally about potential use of funds.

Additionally, two key small business funding opportunities are in the process of being deployed and may be immediately applicable in your community:

1.    The Shuttered Venue Operators grant program – which provides relief funding to theaters, performance venues and other entertainment industry-related entities – experienced a delay in opening but is now set to open tomorrow, Saturday, April 24.

2.    The Restaurant Revitalization Fund is in a testing phase and will open for applications soon. $28.6 billion was allocated to this program, but, given the high need developed throughout the pandemic, the funds are expected to move quickly. We encourage everyone interested in helping local food establishments with this application process to join the Independent Restaurant Coalition, the Small Business Administration and partners for a webinar on Thursday, April 29 at 3:30 pm ET to learn more.

Keep us informed about what you’re hearing about these programs locally, and how we can help. If you have been involved in local conversations about the use of ARP funding, we’d love to hear from you. If you have questions, make sure to join us for Tuesday’s webinar.
