A periodic communication to our Scouting Families

KISC Limits Services

The Transatlantic Council was recently informed by the Kandersteg International Scout Center (KISC) that they will be operating with limited services for the next 12 months. KISC traditionally serves as the host for Camp Alpine and the annual Klondike Derby. We are currently in communications with KISC and evaluating how their announcement will impact the Council's 2021 Camp Alpine and 2022 Klondike.

Please watch this space for future updates once we know more.   The full notice from KISC can be found here: https://www.kisc.ch/news/covid-19-temporarily-limited-services-kisc

Registration for Camp Alpine can be found at this link: https://scoutingevent.com/802-CampAlpine2021.

Virtual Cub Scouting

Cub Chat Live, the weekly Cub Scout-focused Facebook Live show, recently challenged viewers to create a list of 25 virtual den meeting ideas in 30 minutes. In true Scouter fashion, they went above and beyond.

They beat that 25-idea goal and provided some of the most creative activities we've ever seen - for virtual or in-person meetings.

And while stuck in a virtual environment, don't forget about the Cub Scout Tips and Tricks you can use to transform your next den meeting.

The Cub Scout Adventure videos feature resources for Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, and Arrow of Light den meetings.

Leadership Spotlight - Meet Bryce Williams

Bryce Williams has been a continually active Scouter from when he joined Cub Scouts in Ohio and later obtaining his Eagle Scout rank in Kansas City. Bryce has been involved not only in the programs of the Boy Scouts of America, but also served in a leadership role with the British Scout Organization.

Bryce is currently living in Germany with his family where he helped reorganize Pack 43 as the Committee Chairman and serves as the Scoutmaster of Troop 43. He is looking for the day soon when there is a new Troop 43 G so his daughters can be involved as Scouts BSA.

Bryce is a member of the Council Training team, serving as the Cub Leader Specific Lead. He is the go-to person for your Cub Leader Specific Training questions. Bryce can be reached via email at [email protected]
