Student Writing Recognized by National Awards Program
Congratulations to junior Lucy Loudon for earning Honorable Mention in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers! Lucy entered a story called Over and Out in the Flash Fiction category, coached by BWHS English teacher Jared Tedrick who is also the Creative Writing Club moderator. For the 2021 awards, students from across the United States entered nearly 320,000 original works in 28 different categories, 11 of which were writing.

Current students do NOT need to register for the 2021-22 school year. Registration is intended for incoming and transfer students.

Counseling Corner
2021-2022 Course Scheduling Continues
Juniors have a scheduling sheet from their individual counselor meeting that needs to be signed by a parent. Forms should be returned this week to either the counselor’s mailbox or theology teacher.
Week of February 8: Counselors will have individual meetings with sophomores during theology class
February 16 through Feb 22: Counselors will have individual meetings with freshmen during theology class
Level placement in core classes will be made by teacher recommendation. Students should discuss their placement with their current teacher.

College Credit Plus
If your child is planning to take a College Credit Plus course in 2021-2022, you must review all information on the Bishop Watterson website: click here.
There is no College Credit Plus meeting this year. Our website contains all of the information usually reviewed at the meeting.
It is the family’s responsibility to complete all application requirements by the deadlines for a student to take College Credit Plus courses.

2021 Catholic Men's Conference

The annual Catholic Men’s Conference is among the largest gatherings of its type in the nation for men of faith. This year instead of gathering in one place, various parishes throughout the Diocese of Columbus will host smaller groups to view the 2021 conference video on Saturday, February 27. Evening of Reflection Still Available
Bishop Brennan graciously spent an hour with us for Evening of Reflection, discussing how Catholic schools and parents are partners in fostering the faith life of children and answering questions from parents.

Math Assistance Available
Math Tutoring is available Monday through Thursday during study halls for all students whether on campus or on the gray learning plan. See Ms. Wenger in the library or email her at mwenger@columbus.k12.oh.us.

Senior Papers
The senior research paper is due on February 16 at the beginning of the student's English class period. Late papers are not accepted for any reason. Failure to turn in the paper will result in attendance at a summer session to write a paper in order for the student to receive a diploma from Bishop Watterson.
