Whether your preference is hockey, figure skating, or recreational skating, the Skatium Ice Arena has something for everyone! 

Fall figure skating classes are still available
Fall is a great time to learn to ice skate! Registration is still open for the Skatium Ice Arena's Snowplow Sam classes for 3- to 5-year-olds and for Basic 1 for ages 6 and up. Our instructors are trained to work with children who have never skated before.

Remember to bring your mittens! Rental skates are available for $2.50 per week. Masks are required at the Skatium. Register below or by calling (847) 929-7900.

The Skatium's hockey program is one of the best around and still has openings in most of its fall Intro to Skating/Future Flyers hockey classes.

So lace ’em up and come out and join us! No skating experience required.

This event is sure to impress, featuring many different trucks from the community, including from our very own Skokie Park District. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Kids! Fall Hot Shots Sports classes are filling up fast. From instruction in baseball to basketball to volleyball to soccer to dodgeball to elite nerf battle, our Hot Shots professional instructors offer classes for ages 4 to 14.

It's not too late! 'GO! Skokie' is back
The Skokie Park District is asking you to commit to walk or move for at least 30 minutes every day in September!

Registrants will receive FREE access to a variety of pop-up events and activities. All participants will also receive giveaways, discounts, FREE vouchers, BOGO deals and much more. All ages are welcome!
Script Reading Happy Hour
Enjoy reading new and classic scripts with our entertaining theatre staff, all with drinks and refreshments for sale.

Story Stroll coming to Peccia Park

Bring the family to the final Story Stroll park destination of the summer and read the story on display!

Every two weeks, a designated park has featured a children’s book laminated and attached to kiosks along our park path. As you stroll along the trail, you will be directed to the next page in the story.

Book: "Where Butterflies Grow" by Joanne Ryder

A small caterpillar hatches, grows, sheds its skin, and becomes a smooth, green creeper. Then, in a sequence of remarkable close-ups, it spins a silken sling until it finally bursts forth as a brilliant black swallowtail butterfly. Includes suggestions on how children can grow butterflies in their own gardens.

Gross Point Park: "You Know How to Love"

Help us out! Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz
Join the Skokie Park District and parks throughout the country in a fun challenge to see how many pollinator species can be documented this September. 

Use iNaturalist to photograph and log as many pollinators and plants as you can find in our parks and the Skokie community. The data collected will be used by the Skokie Park District to monitor populations of pollinators and plants, as well as acquaint the community with the natural world around them! A registration link will be available soon. For more info, email gnano@skokieparks.org.

Kick Off: September 25, 1-3 p.m.
Grand Finale: October 3, 1-3 p.m.

If you are unable to attend the Kick Off and Finale, you can still participate by downloading iNaturalist and joining our project.
