WARNING
During the months of November and December Hainesville has been the site of two auto thefts and at least ten vehicle break ins. In one of the incidents, a security camera showed the perpetrator with a pistol in his hand. Numerous cameras have spotted two vehicles seemingly working together as they cruise the streets and check vehicle doors.
In mid-December the Police Department spotted this crew and initiated a pursuit. The pursuit was called off for safety reasons and the crooks got away. And, although the police got the license plate numbers, the vehicle had been stolen.
In each of the cases mentioned above, the vehicles were UNLOCKED. This leads to two pieces of advice. First, if you see this crime happening, do not intervene, call 911 immediately and provide as much detail as possible. Second, LOCK your vehicle doors at all times.

SEWER RATE INCREASE NOTIFICATION
|
|
Lake County Public Works Department completed a system wide Rate and Connection Fee Study. As a result of the study, the Lake County Board approved sanitary sewer rate increases for customer’s connected to the Northeast Central Region and the Northwest Region. These increases are passed onto the residents and businesses. This increase is effective with the usage starting on December 1, 2023 and will be reflected on your January 2024 village utility bill. The increases are mandated by the County and the Village has no real voice in the matter.
Northeast Central Sewer Region customers are comprised of the subdivisions of Misty Hill Farms, Deer Point Trails, The Sanctuary and The Settlement. The sewer rate will increase
from $6.684 per 1,000 gallons to $6.844 per 1,000 gallons. The total increase is $0.16 per 1,000 gallons.
Northwest Sewer Region customers are comprised of the subdivisions of Union Square Townhomes, Cranberry Lake (both single family homes and all townhomes) and the Commercial corridor on Routes 120 & 134. The sewer rate will increase from $3.91 per 1,000 gallons to $3.98 per 1,000 gallons. The total increase is $0.07 per 1,000 gallons.

The Village of Hainesville will no longer have an electronics recycling dumpster. Our residents can visit Avon Township at
433 E. Washington St. Round Lake Park, IL 60073 if they have electronics that they would like to recycle.

|
- There is no on-street parking allowed anytime there is a 2" or more snow event. For Cranberry Lake North and Holiday Ln. residents, your vehicles need to be off the street between the hours of Noon and 4:00 p.m. the DAY AFTER the snow event.
- Give snowplows room to work.
- Make sure your sidewalks are free of snow and ice. Also, let's look out for our neighbors who might not be able to remove snow on their own by lending a helping hand.
- When removing snow from your driveway, be sure NOT to push it into the street.
- Please clean snow and ice away from Fire Hydrants in your area.
- Snowmobiling or ATV's are not allowed to be used anywhere within the village limits.
- If your sump pump line is discharging into the street or onto a sidewalk, please move it as this freezes and creates dangerous ice situations.

SNOW PLOW DAMAGED MAILBOXES
Over the course of the snow plowing season, it is possible that some mailboxes could be knocked down, either by the plow bumping it or by heavy wet snow coming off the plow blade. The plow drivers report this to the Village and we then provide a temporary mailbox. In the spring, we will replace the mailbox at our expense. The replacement box will be a standard box, placed upon either a 4" x 4" wooden post or a metal post. The replacement will not match specialty boxes.

DON'T LET YOUR PIPES FREEZE
With the colder weather setting in, it is important to remember that if you are leaving town for an extended period of time, please let your water drip to help prevent freezing water lines. Keep the house temperature around 60 degrees as this will help ensure that those colder areas where water pipes run through garages and crawl spaces do not experience a pipe burst.
