Travon Walker, the No. 1 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, played in the City of Palms Classic with Upson-Lee High School in 2017.
Travon and his teammates from Upson-Lee won the City of Palms Classic Small Town Signature Series in December 2017. In their final match-up during the series against Corbin (KY), Travon pulled down 21 rebounds which put him on the all-time leaderboard for rebounds in City of Palms Classic tournament history.
Travon Walker was a two-sport head-turner at Upson-Lee, helping the Knights to a pair of perfect seasons and state basketball championships. He went on to be a five-star recruit in 2019, starring in football and basketball. He stayed in his home state to play college ball, signing with Georgia.
The Thomaston, Ga. native becomes the first Georgia defensive lineman selected in the NFL Draft since 2013 and is now the first Georgia player to be selected with the first overall pick since Matthew Stafford in 2009. Walker will be taking his talents to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
