Tarrant County recently announced that 64% of County residents have been vaccinated, and at the County vaccination site at the Hurst Conference Center over 160,000 have received their vaccinations.
With the vaccination’s success and the Governor’s lifting of the mask mandate, it has been nice to see the smiles on people’s faces and the relief that has allowed them more comfort in getting out and about. Traffic and sales increases have been trending up since the March 2 Executive Order, GA-34, where the mask mandate was rescinded. Businesses in Hurst and throughout the HEB area are enjoying the much needed additional sales volumes and are thankful for the stimulus funds that have allowed them continued operation through the downturn of the last 12 months. Hurst was fortunate that during the temporary shutdowns, layoffs, occupancy limits, most all businesses, other than a few national bankruptcies, were able to stay open.

North East Mall and most brick and mortar stores are now beginning a new “revival” in sales and traffic, and the Mall has been able to maintain 95% store occupancy throughout. They are soon to open or have just recently opened several new stores, including Guana Café, K Momo, Shapers, Quicklotz and Tastebuds Live.
Hurst will also soon welcome three new restaurants to the area. Dixie House Café will be offering their highly popular home cooking when they open their new Hurst Café on Airport Freeway next month. Hattie Maries Texas BBQ & Cajun Kitchen will soon open their new BBQ & seafood restaurant on Grapevine Highway. And look for the new Hawaiian Bros. Island Grill to open in July on Airport Freeway and Precinct Line Road.
Hurst voters strongly supported the addition of packaged liquor stores to the roster of fine retailers in Hurst in the November 3rd election. Four new liquor stores will open in Hurst between now and the end of the year including Tarrant Liquor, Fossil Creek Liquor, Liquorland and Spec’s Wine, Spirits and Finer Foods.

The City of Euless has begun the year with new businesses beginning construction.
Urban Logistics will be bringing a total of over 360,000 square feet of flex-commercial leasable space to the northwest corner of S. Pipeline Road and S. Industrial Boulevard. The total square footage split among three separate buildings will provide employee-rich businesses to locate in this thriving corridor. Dutch Bros Coffee has broken ground in the 700 block of N. Industrial Boulevard and will bring a following from its original West Coast markets.
QuikTrip continues to have a strong presence in Euless. A new store has begun construction at N. Main Street between W. Euless Boulevard and W. Airport Freeway. Also under construction at this location is Tommy’s Car Wash which will be located in the 300 Block of E. Euless Boulevard. A new medical office building is underway in the 200 Block of Westpark Way which will provide counseling and psychiatric care.
Comfort Inn and Suites has opened in the 1800 block of W. Airport Freeway. Frost Bank will begin construction later this year at the southeast corner of the W. Airport Freeway.
Residential building continues in our prime subdivisions. Lennar Homes has pulled twenty new home permits at their subdivision, Lonestar Estates, along Westpark Way. Founders Parc continues to see new homes under construction with ten new residential permits pulled during the first quarter.
The City of Euless is excited for the full, safe, openings of our stores, restaurants and other businesses.

Resident Inn by Marriott Opens Its Doors in Bedford
The City’s newest hotel recently opened its doors and welcomed its first guests. Officially known as the Residence Inn by Marriott Dallas DFW Airport West/Bedford (phew!), the hotel is a four-story, 96-room, all-suite hotel totaling 85,000 square-feet. Guests may choose to reserve a studio room, a one-bedroom suite (similar to the studio, but with a separate bedroom area), or a two-bedroom suite.
Residence Inn by Marriott also has a meeting room and a beautiful open lounge area on the first floor where guests can enjoy their breakfast, hang out, do work, etc. There is also a small market (selling snacks, Tylenol, sodas), exercise room, indoor pool, outdoor patio (with grill and fire pit), and an outdoor multi-purpose sports court (combo basketball, pickle ball, soccer).
Because the hotel is designed for more extended stays, the hotel also offers washer and dryers for the guests use, no quarters required these days because the machines now take credit cards. It is also a pet-friendly hotel, welcoming dogs, cats, birds, and fish (we asked!).
This fall, Marriott will begin work on a Fairfield Inn & Suites immediately adjacent to their Residence Inn sister property. For more information about rates and this Residence Inn by Marriott (2000 S.H. 121), please click here to visit their website.

The Foundation markets the three cities primarily though trade shows, professional associations and meetings with commercial real estate developers. A primary focus of this foundation is retaining area businesses which, outside of supportive partners, is a primary source of funding.
