Inclusivity Statement & Discernment Exercise
|
Recently, deacon flock members received a letter from deacon chair Suzanne Morse describing a conversation about inclusivity that the deacons have been having for nearly two years. This is a challenging topic, and the need to observe COVID precautions has made it more difficult to engage the congregation in this conversation.
At this time, the deacons have prepared a draft of an inclusivity statement which the congregation is being asked to read and consider. Responses will be collected through September 15, and then the deacons will compile the results to share with the congregation.
The sermon from Sunday, September 5, “Recalculating Route…”, based on Mark 7:24-37, includes more background information about this statement and process. The recording of Sunday’s worship service is available on YouTube, and the sermon begins at about 25 minutes. You can view it here.

COVID Safety Precautions
Updated July 28, 2021
|
|
- Please wash or sanitize your hands upon arrival at church.
- Please do not attend church in person if you are sick or have symptoms of COVID.
-
Please wear a mask inside the church. Per current recommendations from the CDC and DHEC, this applies to the vaccinated and unvaccinated, due to the substantial transmission of COVID in our area and the increasing incidences of breakthrough infections. Mask wearing maximizes protection from the Delta variant and prevents possibly spreading it to others.
Thank you for your cooperation!
