Creativity Bursts Forth for Students Studying Baha'u'llah's Mystic Writings

In fall 2023, students in the Wilmette Institute course The Seven Valleys and The Four Valleys through Creative Arts Exploration studied Baha'u'llah's Writings through creative arts expressions such as drawing, writing, photography, music, and crafts. The course is intended both for those with a background in the arts and for those with an interest but little or no experience in this approach. In this article, several students share their experiences and creations.

God Summons Europe II videos made public

Wilmette Institute is pleased to release the final videos completed by Shahrokh Monjazeb earlier this year in his God Summons Europe II course. The course covered Bahá’u’lláh’s tablet to Pope Pius IX, His messages to Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria-Hungary and Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany in the Aqdas, His reference to the rulers and presidents of the republics of America, and other references to political and religious leaders in the Aqdas.

Wilmette Institute at American Academy of Religion

In November, the Wilmette Institute organized a literature display at the American Academy of Religion Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas. The meeting was attended by some 10,000 professors and students in religious studies, clergy, and journalists. Dozens of visitors stopped by the booth daily to take some literature and ask questions. A common focus of discussion was the inclusion of the Baha'i Faith in religious studies courses at their university, which is happening with increasing frequency.

Everything has a story. All things come from somewhere, perhaps from another country far away. Who were the people who manufactured them? What was the environmental impact of production? What happens to all the stuff when they are broken or no longer used? We can educate ourselves to become more aware of the life cycle of things by learning about the story of just a few items.
