As the end of the year approaches, many of you who are over 72 are faced with taking a Required Minimum Distribution from their traditional IRA. That money is then included in their adjusted gross income and taxes must be paid, However, by making a direct transfer of funds to a Qualified charitable Distribution (QCD) reduces one's taxable income and possibly one's Medicare payment.  QDC can go to one or more charities and can be portions of your RMD.  Deadline for RMD and QCD is December 31

A QCD of $1000 or more to ALSM Endowment Fund qualifies for the Legacy Society and

"Planting Seeds for tommorow."
