Adult Programs
Introducing Emily Becker

As many of you know, our dear Virginia Munro, who has been bringing stellar programming to the Edgartown Library for the past 15 years, embarked on a much-deserved retirement at the end of March. Virginia built an incredible year-round calendar of programming and events over the years, which she kicked into high gear after we opened the doors at West Tisbury Road seven years ago.

During the last two weeks of March, Virginia worked closely with the newest member of our team, Emily Becker. We are so excited to have Emily join our crew and see where she will take library programming in the years to come. Please say hello to Emily during your next visit to the library!
[Online] Gustav Klimt & Vienna’s Golden Age, with Janet Mandel
Tuesday, April 5
7pm
Gustav Klimt dominated cultural life in Vienna at the turn of the Twentieth Century, being the bridge between the symbolism of fin-de-siècle Europe and the modernism that captured the imagination of the continent. Arts educator Janet Mandel will tell the story of his remarkable life while examining his ebullient landscapes, sensual drawings, and ravishing portraits. We will also learn what happened to his many Jewish patrons and the Klimt works they owned during the Nazi era and beyond.

This program has been generously funded by the Friends of the Edgartown Free Public Library.

[In Person] Film: Pan's Labyrinth (Spain, 2006)

[In Person] Film: The Story of a Three Day Pass (France, 1967)
Tuesday, April 19
7pm
Melvin Van Peebles’s edgy, angsty, romantic first feature could never have been made in America.
