The Estrella Warbirds Museum has always been known for its constant change and quality of the displays.  If you have not been to the museum in a while, there is no better time then this summer to catch up on the latest aircraft, military vehicle or automotive display that has become part of the museum since the last time you visited.

If you have a little bit of extra time on your hands and are looking for a new hobby or willing to share your knowledge or even learn something new, we are always looking for docents or volunteers in the restoration or maintenance areas.  We are all family and would like you to join us!  It's fun! There are plenty of new friends to meet and enjoyable times to be had. Contact us today!  We'd love to hear from you.

July Dinner
Numerous Guests
Remembering the Past
A Brief History of Estrella Warbirds Museum
Wednesday, July 1st
No Host Bar starts at 6:00 p.m.,
Dinner starts at 7.p.m.

Join Jerry Takier and a host of guests for this special July dinner presentation. The presentation is designed with emphasis on the history of Estrella Warbird Museum and those who came before us (and some whom are still with us). We've all had a strong desire to build a sustainable aviation history museum here in Paso Robles, preserving military aviation artifacts and those of the countless people that worked in or around such in the past.  Our goal has always been to show that our freedoms were not without cost, preserving what we can for the generations that are to follow us.

This month's special guest is actually our "history". We wanted to take time out to honor our founding fathers (and mothers to be correct), those 42 whom sat down around a tale and decided they had a story to tell and a museum was the way to tell that story.

As a back drop, the museum actually began as the Estrella Wing of the Confederate Air Force. The first organizational meeting was held in a hangar just down the road on property owned by the Nunno Corp.

The Estrella Warbirds Museum was incorporated in May of 1993 as a California Non-Profit Organization. At that time, it was still a sub-committee of the Estrella Wing of the CAF.

In July, 1977, the CAF Estrella Squadron and the Estrella Warbird Museum merged under the museum's non-profit mantle. The rest is hisotory - a history that will be told by the remaining originators of our organization.

Restoration Crew Finishing F-8 Restoration

Our F8 has languished in the desert sun for way too many years with only a partial restoration taking place, as as all other projects seemed to fall on a higher priority level.  That, however, is finally coming to a close.

This is a far cry from it's original arrival condition. An incredible number of man hours and gallons of sweat were expended on this labor of love....and what a beauty she turned out to be. Had we all known that, I'm sure it would have been completed years ago.   We have every reason to be proud of our volunteer restoration crew!  Certainly, they have plenty of opportunity to teach people a thing or two about restoration if you are finding yourself with plenty (or a little bit) of ,spare time.  Great job, guys!
